Foundation models are at the heart of the third wave of artificial intelligence (AI).
These are a new generation of neuronal AI models that have been trained on gigantic amounts of data. The special feature of these models is that the knowledge of the AI acquired in the so-called pre-training is suitable as a basis for various applications and the AI is therefore versatile.
